STEM FOR KIDS project is initiated to connect education with STEM hands-on learning experiences to the age group of 10-16 years in coding, design thinking, and electronics. We aim to decrease the prevailing gender gap in STEM and encourage young girls to critical thinking, designing their imaginations and problem solving and get exposure to STEM from an early age.
We will be collaborating with local government, the federal government and NGOs/I NGOs to reach out to the community school as a campaign to reach 1000 girls in 2020.
Educate and inspire 1000 girls into short term STEM awareness campaigns in the year 2020
Outcomes we intent to achieve:
WISTEM educators reflect on what is already present in the classroom and recognizing the small, focused tweaks needed to lessons, activities, and classroom questioning techniques.
Depending on the environment, our educators will modify the process to enroll children into STEM that includes words like the design process, arts, prototype building, experiment and pair learning leading to an environment that supports and encourages STEM learning.
At our STEM workshops, students will be engaged in problem-solving activities since an inquiry-driven lesson sparks children’s curiosity and proven the best learning opportunity.
Involving children into project-based learning with design thinking that opens opportunities to empathize, define, ideate, investigate and explore. Our activities will be updated with the latest technology ideas and integrated STEM curriculum.
